Starting to product videos for a YouTube channel has been something I’ve considered for a while. I mean, don’t get me wrong I love taking photos and writing. I just feel there are some experiences which are better shared on film. Although I’ve had a lot of great experiences that I wish I’d caught on film, such as Bloggers Invade Centre Parcs, I just didn’t feel confident in doing so. Instead letting my own insecurities get in the way. Rather than ignoring them and focusing on giving it my best shot, I listened to the little voice in my head telling me I’d hate seeing myself on camera and no one at all would watch it. While I’m still not sure anyone particularly wants to see my nonsense, I at least now feel a little more comfortable about putting it out there.
With going away this weekend for Reading Festival I thought this may be the perfect opportunity to start creating videos. I find taking photos at gigs notoriously hard. (Big props to my friend Ami who makes it look easy!). Plus, I mean, how many times can I write “I saw this band and they were amazing” and get away with it…
So, on that note, I started a re-purposed an old reposting channel I had at uni into a proper YouTube channel and here’s my first ever vlog;
I Started A YouTube Channel!
Okay, so I’m not exactly a natural on camera and editing this took way longer than I’d like to admit but overall I’m so glad I’ve started. If you have any tips or tricks for filming, editing or just using YouTube, in general, please feel free to let me know. As I’ve probably said before I love reading about over peoples techniques to learn from them.
& if you fancy subscribing, I would really appreciate it!
Hopefully this will help me feel a little more confident in public speaking as I’m not only hosting a talk at the Beauty Bloggers Awards but I’m also on the judging panel for the #Beauty20 awards in October. I think I need all the help and practice I can get..
