Sephora Lipstick Haul inc Kat Von D & Too Faced || Beauty
After watching Leah and Chloe‘s adventures in New York (and getting super jealous of their Sephora hauls) I decided to treat myself to a few bits from the beauty mega store myself. Although I was tempted by a Tarte palette or five, I decided that a girl can never have too many lipsticks and picked up a grand total of 8 different lip products. To be fair though, 6 were part of a lip sampler set.. That basically means I only bought three right?!
Anyway! I thought I’d share what I picked up and my thoughts on my haul;
Sephora Lipstick Haul
Okay, so I know I probably don’t need anymore lipsticks. But, when I spotted the “Give Me Some Lip” set with two full sized and four minis for only $28, I knew I couldn’t pass it up. Working out at around £21, I just couldn’t resist such a great value for money set. Although, since shipping was so pricey, I just had to purchase a few more pieces to make it worthwhile. What a shame huh? Two of Kat Von D’s cult Everlasting Lipsticks added to basket along with the set, I got overly excited and waited for my tracking number.
Kat Von D – Everlasting Liquid Lipstick
I know, I know “but Fran, Kat Von D is stocked in Debenhams now. Why did you need to order those from Sephora?“. Well, although Debenhams are carrying the majority of the range. There are still a selection of products that aren’t yet available. And some that may not be at all. I picked up “Jeffree” & “Project Chimps” which after searching high and low, cannot currently be found on Debenhams’ website.
Project Chimps – A limited edition, warm brick red shade created to raise money and awareness of Project Chimps. The organisation helps biomedical chimps retire to a life of freedom. As all Kat Von D’s products are cruelty free and most vegan, it’s no surprise that ending animal testing is a cause close to her heart. Not only is this lipstick doing good, with 20% of the retail price going to Project Chimps. it looks good too. I’ve found it to be the perfect evening red.
Jeffree – Named after Jeffree Star and in reference to his trademark pink hair, if you follow Kat on Instagram, you probably already know that this hot pink lipstick is being discontinued. & if you’re anything like me, you probably watched all the drama surrounding it. Sorry, not sorry. Either way, feud aside, Jeffree is possibly my favourite Everlasting Lipstick yet. After all, I’m a sucker for bubblegum-esque pinks. So here’s hoping she decides to re-release it, even if it is under a different name..
Sephora Favorites – Give Me Some Lip
Firstly, the minis. Thankfully these are all generous enough to actually try out the product properly, some aren’t that much smaller than the full sized too. Bonus!
Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Chihuahua – Despite being a fan of Too Faced for their fun packaging and excellent formula, I hadn’t yet tried any of the Melted range of liquid lipsticks. Described as a dusty mauve, a little really does go a long way. I really like the applicator on this, it actually did as promised and help me be more precise. I’ll definitely be looking into picking up another in the future.
Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment – Although this lip treatment did leave mine feeling hydrated and soft, at $24 (around £18) I’d rather spend pick up another of Dr Paw Paws tinted balms at half the price.
NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien – NARS Satin Lip Pencil range are all named after parks and gardens, with Rikugien taking it’s name from a metropolitan park in Tokyo. This rose pink formula isn’t as bold as I’d normally like, but the soft satin formula does look great on.
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lovecraft – I reviewed one of Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss lipsticks in Backstage Bambi last year and although I love it, I hadn’t got round to purchasing any more. Lovecraft is a mauve pink nude and one I’ve been wearing a lot in the day time. Plus the packaging is absolutely gorgeous.
Full Sized Products
Last but certainly not least, the full sized products;
Lancôme Juicy Shaker in 313 Boom-Meringue – You may have seen these mentioned by various bloggers over the last couple of months. Inspired by cocktail shakers and with a completely unique applicator, I can see why they’ve been such a hit. While I’ve been tempted on numerous occasions to try one for myself, I’ve held off. Mostly as I prefer a more bold lip. This lip oil is cute, tastes nice on but is it worth the £18 price tag? Well for me no.
Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Stepping Out – The formula of this lipstick is great, but sadly I don’t feel the deep nude colour really suits me. I’d be interested to try out some of the other colours in the range in the future though!
