Another busy week calls for another week in lipsticks! This week, I had dinner dates, caught up with old friends and all in all just had a fantastic week. Sometimes all you need is good lipstick and good friends right?!
Wednesday – Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Mother. Wednesday night was spent at Eudelo, otherwise known as European Dermatology London. I’ve always suffered with my skin, so when I was invited to spend the evening at one of the UK’s leading dermatologists. Well, it’s safe to say I was excited and albeit a little scared. Turns out I had no reason to be as Dr Stefanie Williams told me what I need to be doing to achieve better skin and her team gave me possibly the best facial I’ve ever experienced. I’ll be posting more about this later, hopefully next week!
Anyhow, one of my favourite Kat Von D lipsticks accompanied me for the evening. Although as I removed my makeup shortly after arriving, it’s epic lasting power wasn’t quite needed that night..
Thursday – Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Jeffree. Okay, I’m not sure how I managed to fit everything that I did into Thursday. After work I made my way to Bishops Square to see the iconic Coca-Cola Truck. Once I’d finished getting snap happy, I made headed over to Leicester Square to meet Sophie for a dinner date. We caught up over a gorgeous meal at the newly opened All Bar One. The food was gorgeous and as to be expected with the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick formula, I only needed to top up after dinner. It was such a happy, cheery day that this bubblegum pink felt perfect to wear.
Friday – HUDA Beauty Liquid Matte in Gossip Gurl. For the first time in what feels like forever, I travelled up to Sheffield for the weekend. Having a half day at work, I headed over to St Pancras. As I was out on Thursday, I took the train journey as a chance to catch up on the TV I missed. Namely, The Apprentice and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Anyway, when it came to my lipstick I needed to top up before the train pulled into the station. But, fair enough, after eating a tub of hummus and having a glass or two of wine on the journey. If you fancy reading my full review on this, it’s here.
Saturday – Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Catnip. Saturday was spent with some of my favourite people. Becky and I grabbed a brunch at the local All Bar One and then headed to the Christmas markets. Here, after looking around the stalls we inevitably ended up at the Sleigh Bar with a mulled wine. As it was pretty chilly out, when it was time to meet James and Laurence we thought it best to move indoors. Heading over to the local Browns we enjoyed a prosecco or five and played charades before being joined by Katie. Realising it was almost time for the evenings gig, Walking On Cars we headed back to the flat to drop of our stuff. By this point, despite having a few drinks, my lipstick was mostly intact. Impressive. (& part of the reason it’s quickly becoming a favourite of mine!)
Sunday – Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment. Having worn slightly drying, liquid to matte formulas the last few days I thought it best to give my lips a rest. For the journey home I, for once, went makeup free aside from this rose tinted lip treatment. Once home, I had big plans to get ready for the week ahead.. But these were scuppered by going for a nap and a Nandos. Oh well!
Monday – Seventeen Mega Matte Lipstick in The Coral Of The Story. While I felt refreshed after a lazy Sunday, I still decided to face Monday with a bright lip colour. Grabbing a favourite of mine, The Coral Of The Story, I was ready to face whatever the week had to throw at me. I mean, who can beat a cute lipstick with a pun-ny name! I did a full review here, if you fancy a read.
Tuesday – NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Ibiza. I wish I could say that Tuesday was super exciting, but I’d be telling porkie pies. I’d spotted on Monday that the Boots nearest my work had got a NYX stand and before I treated myself I thought I should get a little more wear out of the products I have by them. I wanted a long lasting, bold lip. This little beauty fitted the bill perfectly! (& made me want to have a little lunch time Boots treat.. Naughty!)
So it seems, minus Sunday, this week was all about the bold matte lip. I’m proud that I managed to make it through without buying any new products. Insted focusing on some already in my collection. Next week though, I think I need to give my MAC stash some love..
Side note, all photos on this post were taken on my iPhone. The quality is a lot better than I would expect to be honest!
