A few weeks ago a very unusual invite landed in my inbox. “Unusual? Why unusual?” You may be asking. Well, because, along with 25 other bloggers, Megabus set us a mission to save London in a puzzle adventure. Not the usual way I’d spend a Thursday evening but one I was very much looking forward to. The Megabus team had kept details on the evening to a minimum, (after all, they did call it a “mystery adventure”). So, we turned up at the gorgeous Radisson Blu Hotel in Marylebone ready to find out what was in store for us on the #MegaMysteryBus…
In the run-up to Christmas, I ended up making more than a handful of purchases at Debenhams. Between running out of my foundation, picking up a few of the NYX metallic Lid Lingeries and shopping for Christmas gifts for friends and family I ended up not only having a few (some may say a few too many) parcels delivered to the office but also racking up a good few Debenhams Beauty Card points. With having £15 worth sitting on my card it was too much temptation and shortly after Christmas I decided to numb the January blues with some new lip products for my collection. So, here’s what I picked up;
If you read my update on my 2017 goals then you’ll know that one thing that I was really disappointed in myself for was not travelling anywhere near as much as I wanted. If not, brief re-cap; I didn’t do much travelling last year and aim to make up for it during 2018. So when Clickstay got in touch to see if I fancied writing about my travel plans for the coming year, obviously I got my thinking cap on and upon having a nosey around their website even found myself adding some place I’d not thought of to my bucket list. So on that note, here are five places I’d love to be able to travel to during 2018;
Let me just start off by saying with the longest time between two paydays (Six. Whole. Weeks.) I’m so glad January is over. But, that’s not to say that it was terrible as such. Even with heading back to work, being slightly low on funds and the general January blues I still had some great times in January. So on that note, here are my first 5 Happy Things of the year.
For the last two years, I’ve had it as part of my goals for each year to improve both my cooking knowledge and to prepare more lunches at home rather than spending far too much money on pre-prepared salads and sandwiches. (& If you fancy reading the rest of my 2018 goals or how I managed for 2017 then they posts are linked here!) So when an invite from John Lewis Home invited me down to the Waitrose Cookery School in Kings Cross for a masterclass in batch cooking it seemed right up my street. Especially upon hearing that you could stand to save a staggering £1,493.89 a year. Sounds a little much? John Lewis has done the maths and you can read all about it here. Yummy food and hopefully saving enough for a new handbag? Sounds good to me!
So, without further ado, here are the recipes we learnt at the Waitrose Cookery School and how you can make one simple sauce make a whole week worth of meals;
