“It’s The Little Things In Life” – 16 – June || Life Lately

“Because when you stop and look around, life is pretty amazing.” – Unknown

It’s that time of the month again, it’s time for my usual “It’s The Little Things” post. June has flown by. Although I’ve been busy I’ve been a little behind on the blog front, so errm, sorry about that. But anyway, there’s been a few very exciting blog events (I’ll link to relevant posts below!), lots of times with friends and a lot of exploring the city too. Before I go on too much, here is a list of little (and not so little) things that made me happy in June;

A World Duty Free Beauty Haul & #GatwickSummerFestival || Beauty

As you may have seen on my Instagram Stories, I recently spent the evening at Gatwick Airport with World Duty Free celebrating Gatwick’s Summer Festival. (If you haven’t, go follow me @FrannyMac_ – I made it a highlight so it’s right there to click through and see!). Most of our evening was spent at the newly renovated Gatwick North Terminal World Duty Free store, the first stop for travellers heading to destinations such as Madrid, Barcelona and Seville. Here we were lucky enough to have a shopping spree and experience all the perks of the first ever Gatwick Summer Festival for ourselves.

What’s the Gatwick Summer Festival? You might ask, well to celebrate Gatwick’s 60th year, they’ve teamed up with World Duty Free to offer “festival glow” 10-minute makeovers to passengers along with some exclusive fragrances, drinks and sunglasses deals. Along with these, they’re getting passengers holidays off to a flying start by giving out £5,000 in vouchers.

5 Things In My Pre-Holiday/Pre-Flight Routine || Travel

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it, but I’ve been looking into booking my first solo holiday in the next month or so. (Along with a trip back to Denmark and hopefully one to Berlin with one of my best friends in a few months time!) With this in mind, one of my main worries isn’t so much “will I be okay on my own?” and more “will I remember everything I need? Will I end up leaving something important at home/at the hotel?”. (Which is probably because I’m the kind of person who’d been known to phone home to ask if I did, in fact, turn my straighteners off. Even though every single time the answer was “yes, actually you even unplugged them…”) So with that in mind, and for my own sanity and reference later on in the year, I thought I’d share my 5 step pre-holiday/pre-flight routine.

The Stable, Kew Bridge – New Menu, May 2018 || Food & Drink

If you read my “5 Happy Things” from April, I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at The Stable‘s newest menu. I’m already a huge fan of The Stable and can often be found at their Kew Bridge branch on a Sunday afternoon. (Normally contemplating if I can justify both garlic bread and pizza, to be honest. I just love garlic bread okay?!) I’ve posted about one of these trips from last summer when I had my camera with and got a little snap happy. (If you fancy checking it out, the link is here!)

Anyway, when I took a trip at the end of April where we ended up having the manager look after our table. Lucky us huh? So while we were ordering dessert, he told us the reason the cheesecake I wanted was unavailable due to a complete menu revamp. Well, my disappointment quickly turned to excitement to try some new pizza-ee goodness. The new menu launched on the 1st of May (But I got to try it a few days early with their soft launch!), so you may have already had a chance to check it out. But if not, here’s my thoughts…

5 Festivals I’d Love To Go To In The Next Year || Travel

A few summers back, my best friend Becky and I attended Reading Festival and had an absolute blast. Although, we did things a little differently. Being only about a 45-minute train ride away and with me having never camped properly before we decided to just commute in and out each day. And, while as I said, we had an awesome time, I did feel like I’d missed out a little by not choosing to camp. Especially when Becky was telling me all the tales from her trip to Download the year after. So with that in mind, I got thinking about what festivals or carnivals I would like to go to next. And, well, I narrowed it down to 5 that have caught my eye for the coming year;
