Okay so compared to my first post about my trip to Denmark earlier this year, this is well delayed. But, as the old saying goes “better late than never”. So, as I mentioned, back in May spent 3 days in Denmark and split my time between Koge and Copenhagen. The first two days in Koge involved spending a lot of time with family (after all, it was my nephew’s confirmation!) which was lovely, but the last was spent in Copenhagen doing some exploring. Oh July, you were truly a mixed bag of a month. As I mentioned in my intro for my last 5 Happy Things post, it was the month my blog was hacked, I faced a bit of a work-related setback and I just really felt like I was fighting an uphill battle. However, it was also the month I managed to fix some things about my life I really didn’t like, find a little more confidence and most importantly, realise just how many wonderful friends I do have. So without further ado, here is July’s five happy things. (Although, looking through my camera roll I could make this a lot longer than five. Even just with the last few weeks of it!)
Wow, it’s been a hot minute since I wrote a “Hometown Tourist” post, considering how much I love the idea I’m surprised at even myself… (I think it’s mostly as I’ve done individual foodie or travel reviews of things I got up to in and around London? Well, that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!)
Anyway, last weekend I decided to use up some of my holiday at work and take a four day weekend to spend a bit of me time. While it didn’t end up being as relaxing as hoped, I did get to spend a day in Shoreditch being a tourist. By which, I mean, unapologetically taking all the photos. So, I thought I’d resurrect this series and share with you what I got up to. (& maybe give you a little bit of inspiration for if you plan on booking hotels near Shoreditch for a trip of your own!)

It wouldn’t be an “It’s The Little Things” post if it wasn’t approximately two weeks late, would it?! Okay, that’s probably a little harsh, if I was on my A-game, they’re normally on time…
Anyway, excuses aside, July was a busy month and full of loads of happy memories. (And some big stresses, but let’s try and ignore and move past those eh?) So, as usual, I thought I’d use this post to share some of the little, and not so little, moments in July that put a smile on my face. I hope you guys enjoy reading these as much as I enjoy writing them!
A few weeks back, I spent a fantastic evening at World Duty Free’s newly renovated Gatwick North Terminal store. (You can read more about what we got up to and what I picked up here.) With it being a late finish, they were kind enough to put us up for the night in the BLOC Hotel located in Gatwick South Terminal. Since I arrived a little bit before my friend Leah who was also attending and I took a few photos of the room and share with you lovely lot my first ever hotel review post… View Post
